About Us

About HomeofHue

HomeofHue was built for renters, by people who actually live in rentals. We know what it’s like to stare at beige walls you can’t paint, to want a gallery wall without losing your deposit, and to dream of a beautiful home on a real person’s budget.
We believe your space should feel like yours — even if you don’t own it.

Our Mission

To help renters and small-space dwellers create homes they love — without breaking their lease, their budget, or their sanity.
Every guide we publish is tested in real rentals, researched against real lease agreements, and priced against real paychecks. No luxury loft makeovers. No “just buy a house” advice. Just practical, temporary, budget-friendly solutions that actually work.

What We Believe

No Permanent Changes

If it requires a drill, a lease amendment, or a contractor, we don’t recommend it. Every solution on HomeofHue is designed to move with you.

Real Budgets

Our makeovers max out at a few hundred dollars — not thousands. We shop Amazon, IKEA, thrift stores, and dollar bins so you don’t have to guess what things actually cost.

Renter-First

We don’t write for homeowners with renovation budgets. We write for people with landlords, security deposits, and 400 square feet of possibility.

Who We Are

HomeofHue is an anonymous editorial team — no faces, no personal brands, no “look at my perfect apartment” vibes. We’re a mix of current renters, former property managers, and budget-obsessed DIYers who spend way too much time in the Command strip aisle.
We test everything we recommend. If a product fails, a hack damages a wall, or a “temporary” solution turns out to be permanent trouble, we update the post and tell you why.

Work With Us

We partner with brands that genuinely help renters — and only recommend products we’d use in our own apartments.
